Description


The journey begins at Magenta Airport, as the aircraft gently takes off into the blue skies above Nouméa. Soon, the urban landscape gives way to the magnificent natural scenery of Mont-Dore. Beneath the wing, the relief unfolds, sculpted by time, and the first ochre and red hues appear: the iron-rich Caledonian soil spreads out like a painter's palette splashed with sunshine.

Flying over the red-earth plains and mountains, the contrast catches the eye: the fiery colour of the soil blends with the intense deep green of the tropical forests. The wind seems to caress this raw nature, alternating between sparse savannahs and lush valleys, where vegetation clings to the slopes like a wave of emerald.

Then, around a ridge, Lake Yaté appears, a vast mirror of sparkling water in the heart of the mountains. The sight is breathtaking: the water, deep blue and sometimes silvery depending on the light, reflects the sky and clouds like a huge natural mirror. The flooded forest that borders its shores, with its emaciated trunks rising out of the water, creates a strange and fascinating scene, almost unreal.

The flight continues towards the Madeleine Falls, where the waterfalls scatter like white ribbons on the red rock. Further on, wind turbines dot the ridges, symbols of a nature that man coexists with without dominating.
